Its Career And Technical Education Facility At Rockbridge High School
Rockbridge County Public Schools (RCPS) announced on August 8, 2025, the expansion of its Career and Technical Education (CTE) facility at Rockbridge High School in Lexington, Virginia, adding advanced manufacturing and robotics programs with $2 million in state funding. The 5,000-square-foot upgrade includes CNC milling machines and 3D printers, training 150 students annually in precision machining and automation. The program, partnered with Virginia Western Community College, creates 20 internships and supports Rockbridge County’s 2,000-strong manufacturing workforce. Aligned with President Trump’s 10% global tariffs, it targets a $5 billion CTE market. Superintendent Dr. Michael G. Lippa stated, “This expansion equips students for high-demand careers in manufacturing.”
