Battery X Metals Laboratory Testing Has Demonstrated Significant Improvements In Graphite Recovery And Purity Using The Company's Optimized Eco-friendly Flotation Process

Battery X Metals Inc. (CSE: BATX, OTCQB:BATXF) announced a breakthrough in graphite recovery on April 4, 2025, achieving a 97% recovery rate and 69% purity in laboratory tests conducted with a Global Top 20 University’s Institute of Mining Engineering. The tests, using 500g unoxidized Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC)-dominant black mass samples in Denver Cell flotation devices, optimized the company’s eco-friendly froth flotation process, reducing flotation time to 5-7 minutes from 13-19 minutes in prior tests. Compared to earlier solvent pre-washing methods yielding ~40% recovery and 55-59% purity, the new process minimizes metal oxide contamination, as confirmed by graphite burn-off assays at 750°C. CEO Massimo Bellini Bressi called it a “major milestone” for sustainable battery recycling, with plans to explore solvent cleaning and reverse flotation to further enhance purity. The technology targets a $15 billion battery recycling market, supporting a circular economy for lithium-ion batteries.

For the precision machining industry, Battery X Metals’ flotation process underscores the critical role of precision manufacturing in sustainable material recovery. The Denver Cell flotation devices and related equipment require high-precision components, such as impellers and stator assemblies, fabricated with CNC machining to ensure tight tolerances for consistent froth formation and material separation. Producing these parts demands advanced techniques like 5-axis milling and laser cutting to handle corrosion-resistant alloys and composites, ensuring durability in harsh chemical environments. The 97% recovery rate drives demand for such precision-engineered equipment, pushing machine shops to adopt automation and real-time monitoring systems to meet scalability needs. This breakthrough, building on a 2024 milestone of 45% recovery, fosters innovation in manufacturing processes, creating opportunities for suppliers in a $40 billion precision equipment market and advancing eco-friendly production techniques.
