AMMO Inc, The Owner Of Gunbroker.Com, The Largest Online Marketplace For Firearms, Hunting, And Related Products, Today Announced It Has Completed The Sale Of Its Ammunition Manufacturing Assets To Olin Winchester

AMMO, Inc. (Nasdaq: POWW), owner of GunBroker.com, the largest online marketplace for firearms and hunting products, announced on April 18, 2025, the completion of a $75 million sale of its ammunition manufacturing assets to Olin Winchester, LLC, a subsidiary of Olin Corporation (NYSE: OLN). The deal, first disclosed on January 21, 2025, includes AMMO’s 185,000-square-foot facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, ballistic testing capabilities, brass shellcase production lines, and associated employees, now integrated into Winchester’s ammunition business. The transaction shifts AMMO’s focus to its e-commerce platform, leveraging GunBroker’s 1 million daily visitors, while Winchester gains capacity to meet rising demand for small-caliber ammunition, projecting $40 million in annual synergies. The sale aligns with a 10% increase in U.S. ammunition demand since 2023, driven by hunting and sport shooting, with Winchester supplying 25% of the $5 billion market. AMMO retained its Scottsdale, Arizona, headquarters and intellectual property for future ventures. The deal is expected to retain 150 jobs in Manitowoc, supporting Wisconsin’s 62,000 manufacturing workforce.

For the precision machining industry, the sale emphasizes the critical role of brass shellcase manufacturing in ammunition production. Shellcases require high-precision components, such as dies and punches, crafted with 5-axis CNC milling and EDM to achieve sub-micron tolerances for consistent crimping and ignition. The Manitowoc facility’s production lines rely on custom tooling and robotic systems, fabricated using laser cutting and real-time quality control to ensure high-volume output. Winchester’s integration drives demand for local machine shops to supply advanced manufacturing equipment, fostering innovation in high-strength alloys and Industry 4.0 automation. As part of a $50 billion precision manufacturing market, this transition creates opportunities for suppliers in Wisconsin, where manufacturing jobs grew 2% since 2022, strengthening supply chains amid tariff-driven reshoring pressures.
